The offerings at the new "Nano for Industry" display extend from new materials to production methods based on laser technology in the nano range. In the industrial materials sector, nano-particles help modify material properties - for example, by using them as a conductive additive to polymers for the production of high-strength components in the automotive, aviation and aerospace industries as well as for sports, highly integrated circuits, high-performance catalysts and mass storage devices. "The combination of new energy carriers with nanotechnology is particularly exciting," reports IVAM Managing Director Dr. Uwe Kleinkes. New processes also point towards solutions for more energy-effective solar cells.
