Metropolitan Solutions is the largest international platform presenting cross-industry technological solutions for urban infrastructures. Exhibitors showcase intelligent solution ideas for the urban challenges of the present and the future.
It took a mere two years for Metropolitan Solutions to grow from a special exhibition into a full-fledged fair. This year's event will be a standalone showcase that will be run concurrently with HANNOVER MESSE at the Hannover Exhibition Center. "The Metropolitan Solutions showcase has been hugely successful and is set to grow further as we sharpen the event's profile and target new exhibitor and visitor groups," said Dr. Jochen Köckler, the responsible member of Deutsche Messe's Managing Board. Metropolitan Solutions, a platform for applications and solutions for the world's big urban centers and megacities, has enjoyed strong growth since its premiere in 2011. In 2012 the debut event attracted 70 companies who exhibited on nearly 3,000 square meters (32,292 sq. ft) of display space. As from 2013, the fair will be housed in Hall 1, which not only provides space for new exhibits but also for the event's innovative new "City of the Future" format.
The first Metropolitan Solutions Conference completed a successful three-point landing. In three separate cities on November 6 and 7, more than 1,000 participants followed the discussions focusing on secure, reliable, environmentally sound and economical solutions for the intelligent megacities of the future.
In the span of 24 hours, the conference traveled around the globe, going from Hannover in Germany to San Jose in the United States to Shanghai in the People’s Republic of China. Participants from all over the world followed the discussion at all three locations on the Internet
