The German Engineering Federation (VDMA) is committed to the fight against product piracy and IP theft and represents providers of effective protection technologies and services.

A representative survey conducted by the VDMA's product piracy and IT protection unit (AG in 2016 indicates that piracy causes an estimated 7.3 billion euros of losses annually. 70 percent of the engineering firms surveyed indicated they were affected by piracy. 48 percent regard the use of fake products as a threat to the integrity of their manufacturing systems, and 39 percent see it as a danger to human health. Manufacturers of motors and systems, plastics and rubber production machinery and textile production equipment are among the worst affected of the engineering firms surveyed. And at 62 percent, parts and components rank as the most commonly pirated products. Even worse, the firms surveyed are increasingly pointing to direct competitors as the main source of their piracy threat.

So why not be part of the solution and showcase your anti-piracy products and solutions at Industrial Automation 2017! You can exhibit at the VDMA joint pavilion or independently in the Product and Brand Protection display.
