Once again in 2012, the German Solid Forming Industry Association (Industrieverband Massivumformung) will be staging the largest presentation of all within the Industrial Supply fair at HANNOVER MESSE. A total of 31 member companies exhibited at this year's show in Hannover with a total exhibition space of almost 850 square meters.

The spotlight at the themed presentation "Solid Forming" will be on trends and innovations in material and resource efficiency. The question of which raw material should be used plays a key role in the process. This is why research and development of raw materials used in hot and cold forging is an area that is being strongly pushed. Newly developed raw materials made of lighter weight steel and aluminium are found in all applications of forging: automotive construction, wind power, aerospace and medical engineering.
The forging industry in Germany is a technology leader and, after China, the largest producer of hot and cold forged components.
