HANNOVER MESSE 2013 drew to a successful close on Friday. “Over the past several days, the world’s leading trade fair for industrial technology has underscored its role as a key driver of the fourth industrial revolution,” commented Dr. Jochen Köckler, member of the Managing Board at Deutsche Messe AG.

The eleven trade fairs staged under the umbrella of HANNOVER MESSE 2013 from 8 to 12 April featured the keynote theme of “Integrated Industry.” 6,550 exhibitors, highlighting a multitude of innovative products and technology solutions, provided a vivid showcase for this theme. The show’s five core topics – Industrial Automation and IT, Energy and Environmental Technology, Fluid Power and Power Transmission, Industrial Subcontracting, Manufacturing Technology and Services and R&D – opened up new prospects for expert dialogue across all aspects of Industry 4.0.

Three of the most prominent EU politicians for industrial policy – German EU Energy Commissioner Günther Oettinger, Italian EU Industry Commissioner Antonio Tajani and Irish Research Commissioner Máire Geoghegan-Quinn – are attending HANNOVER MESSE 2013. In addition, 15 delegations from the directorates general of the European Commission and technical committees of the European Parliament are travelling to Hannover in seach of valuable input for core EU initiatives related to energy efficiency, environmental protection and climate change.

When HANNOVER MESSE 2013 opens its gates on 8 April, it will do so with more exhibitors and an unprecedented level of international participation. Over 50 percent of the companies represented at the fair are based outside Germany. This year, IT-supported production – the next stage in the evolution of manufacturing – will take center stage at the world’s most important industrial technology fair.

As the Partner Country at HANNOVER MESSE 2013 the Russian Federation will focus on energy, industrial automation and new materials. This was announced today by George Kalamanov, Junior Minister for Industry and Commerce for the Russian Federation, at the official signing of the Partner Country agreement in Moscow. In addition to an extensive array of products and technology at the central Russian stand in Hall 26, the Partner Country will benefit from the broad range of keynote topics featured at HANNOVER MESSE and take advantage of the opportunity to showcase the strengths of Russia as a business location and as the world’s sixth biggest economy.

Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, will be attending HANNOVER MESSE 2013. The Russian head of state will be in the Hannover Congress Centrum for the opening ceremony on Sunday, 7 April, and will also take part in the traditional opening tour of HANNOVER MESSE on Monday, 8 April. On both occasions President Putin will be accompanied by German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who this year will again officially open the world’s most important technology event.

Roughly two months before the start of HANNOVER MESSE 2013 (8 to 12 April), its organizer, Deutsche Messe, is expecting a strong trade fair performance coupled with a winning Partner Country showcase.
