LED technology has been a source of powerful and energy-efficient light sources for some time, which will be replacing conventional light bulbs and mercury-containing fluorescent lamps in the foreseeable future. But LED technology with its individually controlled colors is also opening up previously unknown possibilities for mood lighting in private homes. Convenient controls are needed to make the most of these options. Until now, in line with the times, this was only possible using smartphones or tablets. For everyday use, though, it quickly becomes clear that it would also be useful to have a regular switch. Wadak recognized this and is presenting an innovative wall switch for controlling brightness and color at HANNOVER MESSE 2014.
The Wadak color controller is a high resolution capacitive touchpad that replaces a traditional wall switch and connects to the existing electrical system. It operates like a smartphone, and allows adjustment of the brightness and color of ambient lighting. The light color controller has two operating modes: color and white. And because the Wadak touchpad uses existing household lines for Power Line communication to transmit the user’s inputs to the Wadak RGBW dimmers, no new cables need to be installed.
