“"ntelligent integration" is the strapline for the leading trade show "Digital Factory", which is putting integrated processes and IT solutions center stage at HANNOVER MESSE 2018. These two words stand for a smart interplay between automation, energy technology, intralogistics, IT platforms and artificial intelligence. It is against this backdrop that N+P Informationssysteme GmbH is giving visitors a practical insight into exactly how real and digital data can be linked together to help optimize existing processes. The aim is to boost productivity, uncover previously unknown potential and even tap into new fields of business.
As far as N+P is concerned, making production more transparent while simultaneously enhancing productivity starts with the creation of a digital twin. What that means, according to the company, is linking together various systems to reduce failures and downtime and support employees with the operation and maintenance of machinery. At the heart of the digital twin is the NuPMES MES solution developed by N+P. Thanks to its OPC-UA connection to plants, the solution ensures up-to-date actual values and error messages can be read out directly. This is complemented by a viewer based on Autodesk Forge technology that displays the 3D CAD model and links it to actual machine data. Among other things, the digital twin is used to show up faults in machinery and is enhanced with troubleshooting tips. All this means that a failure can be rectified significantly faster.
