From the beginning of 2018 the distance study university SRH Fernhochschule is offering for the first time an Industrial Engineering with Digital Business bachelor’s degree program that can be completed as part of an on-the-job training course or full-time study program. The training in engineering, economics and reference sciences, natural science and mathematics and statistics is supplemented by special digital business content. The idea is to prepare graduates to work at the interface between management and engineering. The studies should also provide the necessary tools for understanding digital data and information.

As part of the “ Vocational Training 4.0 ” initiative, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research has since 2016 been funding various projects designed to train both skilled workers and small and medium-sized companies to meet the new requirements of an increasingly digitized industry.
