Weidmüller acquires the majority of GTI

The Weidmüller Group acquired the majority of shares in GTI-control mbH and GTI-process AG in mid-June. They will be continued under the name Weidmüller GTI Software GmbH.

Weidmüller Group is a leading international company in the fields of industrial connectivity and automation based in Detmold, Germany. It received the German Innovation Award in 2018 for its industrial analytics solution for predictive maintenance and data analysis as well as for the Klippon Connect modular terminal portfolio.

With the acquisition of a majority stake in GTI-control mbH and GTI-process AG , it is expanding its “automation and solution portfolio with the product portfolio of GTI in the area of human-machine interfaces, which is leading on the market in terms of functionality and design,” according to CEO Jörg Timmermann. GTI, based in Marktheidenfels, Germany, specializes in technical software for industrial use and develops software-based visualization solutions for mechanical and plant engineering. Its HMI systems (Human-Machine Interface) are sold under the brand names PROCON-WIN and PROCON-WEB .
