Hannover, Germany. In March 2019 all the plans will come to fruition when the Centro Citibanamex trade show venue in Mexico City opens its doors for the first Solar Power Mexico. The event is organized by Hannover Fairs México, a subsidiary of Deutsche Messe AG, together with Sunshine Energy International Limited from Shanghai, China, and Solar Power International, Virginia, USA. Both partners organize the biggest solar tradeshows in their countries: SNEC PV Power Expo and Solar Power International, respectively. The organizers expect exhibitors from across Mexico, the USA, Europe and Asia to attend, while the bulk of the visitors will consist of professionals from Mexico, Central America and South America, as well as the Caribbean.
Solar Power Mexico provides the entire solar industry with a platform. Exhibitors range from manufacturers of solar cells and modules, parts and components, new technology and tracking systems, and traditional plants to planners and developers, systems and service providers and installation experts. Solar Power Mexico focuses on not only solar energy, but also solar thermal power, energy storage, independent power generation, network supply, grid management and smart grids.
Many companies have already indicated strong interest in Solar Power Mexico. The organizers estimate that more than 100 companies, mostly from outside of Mexico, will exhibit on roughly 5,000 square meters of display area.
The premiere of the Solar Power Mexico event could not come at a better time as all experts agree that the Mexican solar energy sector is poised for sustained growth over the next decade. There is currently a great deal of interest among Mexican policy-makers in the energy sector in renewables and solar energy – not least because Mexico is a country blessed with sunshine.
"We have chosen the ideal time for the premiere of Solar Power Mexico, because Mexico's solar industry expects steady growth during the next ten years," said Benjamin Low, Global Director Energy, Deutsche Messe AG, who is responsible for the new event. Furthermore, Mexico's energy politics is focused on strengthening renewable energies overall and solar energy in sunny Mexico.
Solar Power Mexico offers the perfect setting for bringing the diverse players in solar energy together. The strategy is clear – to use Solar Power Mexico for a concerted effort to promote the opportunities offered by the promising Mexican market. The purpose of Solar Power Mexico is to set the scene so that the ambitious goals set by Mexican energy policy-makers can be achieved in the near future.
The project partners engaged in Solar Power Mexico are backed by a strong global network – something that also directly benefits the Mexican trade show location. Mutual benefits will also be derived from this year's Partner Country relationship between Mexico and HANNOVER MESSE: a collaboration based on political talks and consultation which it is hoped will lead to positive market developments. At the leading trade fair "Energy” held within HANNOVER MESSE 2018 many new contacts were established between the Mexican solar energy industry and the international solar energy sector. In short, the links needed to make Solar Power Mexico work have already been made and now the organizers are planning and working carefully towards making the debut event an all-round success.
