Daniel Seebauer Co-Founder and Head of Business Development drag and bot GmbH, Stuttgart

1. Please describe your product or solution. What is new? In which industries/sectors can the product or solution be used?

drag&bot is a web-based software for easy, graphical programming of industrial robots. It enables untrained workers to use robots like any other machine without robotics or IT experience or expensive training. drag&bot is independent of different robot brands and models and supports all common automation components.

2. What do you wish to achieve as an exhibitor at HANNOVER MESSE? Which goals do you have, and in which prioritization?

At HANNOVER MESSE, we will introduce drag & bot as the operating system for robots from different manufacturers and models. Above all, we want to convince production companies that drag&bot is an outstanding, flexible element of automation. We will also show manufacturers of robots, grippers, camera systems, etc. how to integrate their hardware in drag&bot.

3. What advice can you give to startups that are in the process of launching their companies?

The customer is king. Therefore, you should always talk with the customer before you develop new features.

Thomas Saphir Co-founder and COO Ubudu

1. Please describe your product or solution. What is new? In which industries/sectors can the product or solution be used?

Ubudu provides high-accuracy real-time geolocation systems for indoor venues to help companies become more efficient by improving the productivity of their operations or by accelerating the delivery of their services to customers. To generate geolocation data we use the technologies of UWB (Ultra-wide-band) and BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy), with tag devices or smartphones interacting with fixed sensor devices. Geolocation data provides indoor way finding, makes the tracking of assets and people inside a building possible and therefore, makes business operations lean. The results are: time saved for searching assets, reduced asset expenditures, optimized operator’s path, and diminished risk of production interruption. This amounts to millions of euros saved for e.g., an automotive factory. Our solutions are applicable to many sectors: industry 4.0 (worker safety on a plant, asset tracking across distribution networks, vehicle real-time tracking), hospitality (table service for McDonald’s deployed on more than 1 000 sites, improving staff productivity by 20s per service) and smart building (mobile way finding for Musée du Louvre visitors or for the Hong Kong underground system).

2. What do you wish to achieve as an exhibitor at HANNOVER MESSE? Which goals do you have, and in which prioritization?

Our main goal at the HANNOVER MESSE is to get in touch with the German players of Industry 4.0 and to get to know the German market. In the long term, we are planning to enter the German market, which is why we are keen to meet new people, get inspired and benefit from each other’s knowledge. It goes without saying that we also want to raise awareness for our services and products.

3. What advice can you give to startups that are in the process of launching their companies?

Don't undervalue yourself. If you build a great product, then you should sell it at a decent price, especially to the first customer. Buyers tend to correlate price with value, so imagine what they think of the value when price is null... And of course, overdeliver to those first customers. The paint will still be wet, bugs still to be found, and you will be able to distinguish yourself only because you are involving your skin on the project, something large competitors are not able to do anymore.

Stefanie Haase, VP Marketing 5Analytics GmbH

Stefanie Haase

1. Please describe your product or solution. What is new? In which industries/sectors can the product or solution be used?

5Analytics GmbH, one of the leading startups in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI), introduces the new version of its AI platform. With this innovative software companies can implement quality-assured AI solutions along the entire value chain with minimal effort. In the past this was only possible by cost-intensive and time-consuming in-house solutions. The new software is multi user-capable, auditable and compliance compliant, allowing applications to be moved from test run to live operation without modification. Fields of applications of the software range from predictive maintenance to active process control and many other varied solutions in industry 4.0.

2. What do you wish to achieve as an exhibitor at HANNOVER MESSE? Which goals do you have, and in which prioritization?

At Hannover Messe 5Analytics demonstrates that a young startup has a wide range of expertise in artificial intelligence to automate business decisions.

5Analytics proves that Smart Factory does not have to be an effort. Our core competence is to provide companies with a quick and easy entry into the world of AI. Therefore we developed solution components for common AI use cases, which can instantly be set up and integrated into existing corporate processes.

We show you in detail how companies e.g. VW, Lanxess and Enisco use our solutions to prevent machine breakdowns and reduce the error rate in production.

3. What advice can you give to startups that are in the process of launching their companies?

Startups should focus on their innovative business idea. The combination of the dynamic in a startup with a clear customer focus offers you a strong competitive advantage. Company founders need courage, endurance, strong nerves and flexibility to survive. But in the end there is nothing more exciting than starting a new business!
