Technology Tours 2012

Discover innovations and the latest trends

At HANNOVER MESSE 2012, visitors can take part in guided tours of the show. Each exhibitor included on the tour circuit will have 15 minutes in which to present their solutions and highlight their latest innovations.

Technology Tours

The tours are dedicated to specific themes and together cover the entire scope of the HANNOVER MESSE portfolio.


Specially trained tour guides will take groups of up to 30 participants on different tours of the main innovations and highlights in selected categories.

Topics of the tours

Tour 1: Robotics

Visitors experience technological highlights and product innovations in robotics and handling technology. Noteworthy international companies present their solutions and products to potential customers, particularly in the fields of manufacturing technology and process planning, production and plant management and technical procurement from the manufacturing and processing industry. Important focus points in 2012 will include energy efficiency, industrial IT and energy automation. The tour ends at the Robotics & Automation Solution Park with live demos, robot consultations and forums.

Tour 2: Energy and mobility technologies

As the world's largest energy technology fair, Energy offers solutions for an efficient, sustainable and competitive energy mix. Conventional and renewable energy generation concepts as well as transmission, distribution and storage technologies share the focus. Among the key topics at MobiliTec are hybrid and electric drive technologies, the power infrastructure and mobile energy storage.

Tour 3: Mechanical Engineering

Whether for production, manufacturing planning, maintenance and repairs or quality control,

HANNOVER MESSE shows the latest technologies and solutions for the core target group in mechanical and facilities engineering. This tour includes exhibition topics such as innovative materials, methods engineering and automated production processes that are specially tailored to the requirements of mechanical and facilities engineering.

Tour 4: Metropolitan Solutions

This is where technologies for urban infrastructures are on display. Globalization, climate change and increasing urbanization create new challenges for cities and agglomerations worldwide. Infrastructures are key. The most urgent needs are in the areas of energy, water/wastewater and mobility infrastructures, as well as in climate protection. New topics in 2012 are urban security and waste management.

Tour 5: Green Technologies

At IndustrialGreenTec, visitors have the opportunity to learn about intelligent environmental technology solutions throughout the industrial value-creation chain and across sectors. Key focus topics include environmentally friendly manufacturing technologies, resource efficiency, recycling management, supply and disposal, water preparation, capture of contaminants and air quality monitoring.

Tour 6: Global Sourcing - exclusively for international visitor delegations

The Global Sourcing themed tour assists visitor delegations in finding international partners and networks, innovations and opportunities for foreign trade promotion. This tour shows the innovation highlights of HANNOVER MESSE 2012. It is followed by a visit to the Global Business & Markets foreign trade platform where exhibitors offer valuable information for implementing foreign trade projects.
