Highly complex microstructures can be produced with the aid of SLE technology (selective laser-induced etching) in combination with various joining, processing and integration processes. Selective Laser-induced Etching (SLE) is an innovative laser based manufacturing process for the production of micro and macro components and micro complete assemblies from transparent materials. Moreover, all this directly from a 3D CAD file. The SLE concept was originally developed by the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology (ILT) and can be applied to synthetic quartz, sapphire, and ruby, among others. The industrialization takes place in close collaboration with LightFab. LouwersHanique combines SLE technology with CNC machining and direct bonding. SLE can be applied to borosilicate glass, synthetic quartz, sapphire, and ruby.
