Description

In order to make the best possible use of the technological possibilities, however, substantial research is still required in the production of large-volume components by means of additive production processes and in the further optimization of the material and process efficiency. A major obstacle to further industrial application and the representation of viable business cases for additive production processes currently represent, in particular, the limitation of the part dimensions and the low build-up rates of the currently used powder-based additive. The use of wire based starting materials (3DMP® - 3D Metal Printing) is one way of extending the existing process limits in additive manufacturing. For the 3DMP® process, all welding-compatible materials can be used.
