Description

Human-robot collaboration is becoming a desired characteristic of industrial robots. Comau has developed a unique technical solution in the field of collaborative robots, called AURA (Advanced Used Robotic Arm). The concept behind AURA is that any standard industrial robot can potentially be transformed into a collaborative robot thanks to the combination of 6 different technologies: Foam skin, Contact sensor integrated in the skin, Non- contact sensor integrated in the skin, Wrist force sensor, Manual Guidance and a Laser Scanner.
The main competitive advantages of AURA are:
- Collision prevention thanks to no contact sensor integrated in the skin
- Possibility to use the same robot in a Collaborative or Not Collaborative behavior, with many advantages in term of cycle time and flexibility
- Highest payload in the collaborative market
- Technology unaffected by vibration
- Possibility to mount the robot upside down
- Fully collaborative robotic systems, including gripper
