Description

Cooperations in the range of Industry 4.0 are hallmarked by a high degree of interconnection and the possibility of bringing together a multitude of corporative actors in a simple and cost-efficient way, with no strings attached to the location. However, companies are facing numerous (new) legal challenges. Standardised contracts which reflect the bilateral cooperation between companies or between companies and research institutions are often not suitable when it comes to working in a cooperative and well connected environment of Industry 4.0. In most cases important topics, such as the classification of "data ownership", are not being dealt with in a sufficient way. This is even more an issue given the fact that a lot of companies desperately want to participate in Industry 4.0 but often don't really reflect on the consequences regarding the disclosure of their own know-how/data. The purpose of our presentation is to outline mistakes that should be avoided in any case.
