Description

"3D printing" is often seen as an all-encompassing manufacturing process. But for additive manufacturing in industrial applications, however, upstream and downstream process steps are an integral part, too. This starts with application development (Design for Additive Manufacturing) and extends beyond the actual LMF build process to post-processing steps such as turning or grinding. The presentation introduces the additive process chain with its elements. In regard to an economic production always the entire process chain hast to be considered, as only then the potential for new additive applications can be identified.
