Asset Administration Shells (AAS) are preforming together with assets the I4.0 Component of the digital factory. The interactions between the AAS orchestrate the I4.0 implementation of the value chains. A common language is needed for a common understanding among the I4.0 Components. This language is designed using interaction patterns based on the RAMI (DIN SPEC 91345). Interactions are built out of messages which carry semantic well defined data elements. Additionally the consequences in the AAS are defined. The common working group which consists of a sub working group of the platform I4.0 and the GMA 7.20 group present the current status of the work and the intermediate results.
