Description

The presentation has a focus on the development of an additively manufactured platform for a self-balancing scooter. The platform integrates several functions and parts, like battery and motor housing, gears and cable wirings. All structures were included in an optimized compact lightweight structure, based on automated digital models and optimization simulations. Production of the self-balancing scooter prototype was reduced from four weeks to four days with additive technologies, equating to time-savings of 85%.

The presentation is based on a research project “Digitaler Produktlebenszyklus” of the “Zentrum für angewandte Forschung” in Weingarten and Stuttgart / Germany
