The definition of Industry 4.0 is based on two main objectives: to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain and to generate more value-added products. These objectives are generic enough to conceal behind them lots of specific impacts or objectives that also depend on around a hundred of technological enablers. With this framework, the strategic approach of an SME to move towards the I4.0 paradigm is a complex task. In this context, the MDI diagnostic model 4.0 is especially useful as it helps to establish business impact priorities and generate a particular I4.0 technological roadmap for the SME. In the presentation, this model will be exposed, its dynamics, benefits and some success cases.
