The platform economy is becoming an increasingly important issue in many areas, including MES. Many companies are extremely unsure about how to react, need support and are looking for specific suggestions – these are provided by the panel discussion. “MES in the platform” is an issue that is currently being discussed in a rather vague way and it undoubtedly involves a variety of risks for companies. The question is whether there will be a long-term alternative to the Cloudbased MES solution when implementing Industrie 4.0. This will be the subject of the discussion, alongside the issue of how companies in the MES sector can position themselves for the future.
