Description

During several working items of the IUNO research project funded by the federal ministry for education research (BMBF) in Germany, the author and his team found that many of the early approaches to provide and manage secure identities for industrial IOT devices were bound to come to a grinding halt whenever one would try to scale up the solutions for the millions of endpoints expected to be part of the industrial Internet.

Luckily a second-generation block chain technology evolved: IOTA deviates from the standard block chain approach and robber uses a directed acyclic graph (DAG) to provide its functionality. In stark contrast to the huge amount of processing power that is needed to verify and prove a transaction using first-generation block chain IOTA is designed to distribute the processing verification and validation of transactions between its participants. The author will provide first insights into the solution approach actual use cases that IOTA will enable.
