Description

The talk presents the motivation, the objectives and the current status of the Smart Factory Web which is an IIC testbed jointly initiated and run by Fraunhofer IOSB, Germany, and KETI, South Korea, see https://www.smartfactoryweb.de The idea of the Smart Factory Web testbed is to investigate how assets of smart factories should be modelled and interconnected such that emerging marketplaces may mediate between production order requests and production capabilities and capacities of associated smart factories. It is based on architectural artefacts of the Industrial Internet Reference Architecture (IIRA) as well as the Reference Architecture Model Industrie 4.0 (RAMI4.0) and applies the IEC standards OPC UA (to handle the communication aspects) and AutomationML (to describe the factory capabilities).
