At Ingolstadt University of Applied Sciences, app. 4,200 students are enrolled in various joboriented and internationall focused bachelor and master programmes. All bachelor programmes are also offered as combined study programmes with an integrated apprenticeship. The Institute for Applied Research (IAF) combines all of Ingolstadt University's research activities. Amongst others, emphasis is laid on automotive mechatronics/electronics as well as upon renewable energy technology (see below). About 60 junior scientists conduct applied research together with many regional, national and international medium-sized businesses and large-scale enterprises.
The Centre of Excellence for Renewable Energy Research at Ingolstadt University is a platform for applied research in the sphere of renewable energies. For a period of over ten years, research projects are carried out in the following technology fields:
