The Brightlands Materials Center in Geleen, Netherlands, is founded by TNO (Dutch Applied Research Center) and the Province of Limburg. We cooperate with specialists in (a.o.) TNO, The Eindhoven University of Technology, Maastricht University and RWTH in Aachen.
Three research programs are running:
- Sustainable Buildings,
- Lightweight Automotive and
- Additive Manufacturing.
The Additive Manufacturing research program focuses on
1 Product performance (tolerances, strength, durability etc.) and reproducibility
2 Enlarging the materials portfolio & enabling multi material AM
3 Increasing production efficiency
In addition to working on material challenges for existing additive manufacturing technologies, we are also exploring the possibilities of new technologies such as printing integrated electronics and fiber reinforced printing.
