Italy will be the official Partner Country at HANNOVER MESSE 2010. Speaking in Hannover on Friday, Wolfgang Pech, Senior Vice-President of HANNOVER MESSE at Deutsche Messe, said: "We are very pleased. Italy is an innovative force that plays a significant role in industry at an international level and in particular in those industrial sectors which form the focus of HANNOVER MESSE." For example, Italian companies rank among the market leaders in industrial components, energy technology and mechanical and electrical engineering, as well as in R&D. Over the past few years Italy has consistently boasted one of the biggest exhibitor contingents at Hannover.
Several hundred Italian companies from every area of industry are expected to exhibit at HANNOVER MESSE 2010. Italy's participation in 2010 will be geared to two aims: providing a showcase for the country's numerous innovations and the further development of trade relations with other countries, in particular with Germany, which is Italy's main trading partner. In 2007, Italy's imports from Germany rose by 7.1 percent, while exports to Germany increased by 7.4 percent. Germany accounts for 13.1 percent of Italy's total export trade. The demand for Italian technology is especially keen in mechanical engineering, the chemical industry and the energy sector.
