3-in-1 innovation for 3D robot guidance and in-line gauging technology: Stereometry combined with triangulation and phase-shifting structured-light projection.Area Profile Scanner 3D, APS3D for short, is a smart, highly accurate sensor innovation that clears the way to exploit new 3D robot guidance and automation applications. The unique "all-in-one" solution covers the ever increasing demands for highest accuracy and flexibility in 3D in-line gauging technology, 3D robot guidance and flexible close-to-production quality assurance. It allows surface information to be recorded fast and reliably - starting with the automatic 3D data generation, using 3D point clouds and data meshing and even comparing CAD data. This makes it the ideal tool for applications such as shape measurement, dimensional accuracy inspection and geometric in-line gauging. This is made possible by combining and merging three different, but efficient measuring principles: stereometry, triangulation per multi-lines and random samples as well as special high-resolution phase-shift methods.APS3D makes use of ISRAs well-known "Plug & Automate" technology which can be installed quickly and without requiring any expert knowledge. The sensor can be operated and controlled using intuitive software and is delivered completely pre-calibrated and with standard components. This allows components to be replaced quickly, keeping downtimes at a minimum. The integrated calculation unit makes operation possible even without an additional computer, thus increasing flexibility as well.
