Increasing numbers of hydraulic and lubrication systems are used in hazardous areas. It is essentially important in such kind of environment that the operating temperature of the oil is reliably stabilised below a certain value. Very often the only available cooling media at these places is the ambient air and the installation of air blast coolers is the only technical option to stabilise the oil temperature.
High airflows set serious requirements in hazardous areas for such coolers because of the possible electrostatic charging of the components involved. Same is due for the mechanical and geometrical stability of the fans rotating with high revolutions. This makes clear, that not only electrical aspects must be considered with highest accuracy but also mechanical details, especially if the unit shall operate also under dust conditions.
The ATEX versions of the BLK/ BNK and the BFP series of air blast coolers and circulation pumps fulfil the rigid requirements for the gas zones 1 and 2 and for the dust zones 20 and 22. The units are released for temperature classes T3 to T4 and group IIC (includes IIA+IIB).
Particularly the BNK ATEX series are an excellent and very price efficient solution because they incorporate the circulation pump directly and eliminate the need for an extra motor.
All ATEX versions can be completed to subsystems by the addition of accessories like filters and controllers.
