Biometrical access control, combined with the proven and tested electromechanical swing handles of EMKA, result in significantly increased security with regard to access control for racks in data centres.
The bus System consists of a central communications module
and the connected handle modules with swing handles and
optional ID boxes. The communication module transmits the
control signals and the power supply for up to 32 server racks
/ 64 swing handles. The feeding of the bus nodes is effected
from two sides so that the power supply is guaranteed even if
the bus is interrupted.
In each cabinet one handle module 3500-U20 is required
to connect 2 swing handles, 2 door contacts and 2 further
contacts to monitor the sidewalls or the top. The network
interface on the db communication module makes the
convenient administration of several bus systems possible
using the management software db Control
For the authentification on cabinet level there are the swing
handles EMKA BioLock with integrated fingerprint sensor. A
handle with fingerprint sensor can simultaneously release a
standard handle EMKA ELock on the back door of the cabinet.
For authentification at the beginning/end of a line of cabinets,
the db ID Box offers the possibility to select the required
cabinet door via a keypad and then to release the required
swing handle using any combination of fingerprint, personal
PIN code or RFID access card.
