Product description

adiabatic energy storage which will have following features
Basic principle
Storage medium is steam. Towards known steam solutions the new concept allows to obtain constant pressure during discharging. This enables continuous delivery of energy on constant level during
complete discharging
Item - Feature - Situation
1. steam enables high storage density relative to volume, weight and cost
2. capacity and power scalable because of flexible design
- low costs regarding manufacturing and operation
- allows design of small units for mobile operation
3. local operation possible (decentral)
- can be employed on wind farms, solar thermal power plants, etc. (stand-alone-operation)
- high compatibility to power grid
4. system allows charging and discharging simultaneously (adopting cascading)
- continues operation
- capable for basic load and standard loading
5. low-loss partial load operation
- high efficiency while storage is not completely charged or discharged
6. available technical components can be used. (i.e. turbo expander, compressor, pressure pipes and
pressure vessel, valves, armatures, controllers
- compare to attachment)
it is necessary to adapt them to specific use
7. during normal operation system can produce drinking water simultaneously without additional
energy consumption
Potential / application areas
1. wind power plants / i.e. one energy storage supports one wind power field
2. solar energy generation system, solar thermal systems, photovolatik, solar power tower, etc.
3. hybring power plant in synergy of conventional power plants and renewable, fluctuate
energies
4. desalination, waste water treatment
