More powerful, more reliable and more durable batteries that is what researchers of the Battery LabFactory Braunschweig (BLB) work on. How to achieve these goals with the support of a networked industry, is presented at the joint booth of TU Braunschweig and Leibniz Universität Hannover.

Research and development of strategies for inexpensive and powerful battery cells are the objectives of the DaLion project. By assistance of a centralized data base extensive production and quality measurement data are acquired and explored by big data analysis. Thus, the researchers will determine complex correlations within the production of electrodes and battery cells and identify disturbing factors in battery production.

Results from this research will help battery cell production industry better understand qualitative and quantitative effects within the production processes. This knowledge will lead to an improvement in the performance of energy storage devices.

Project results will provide the data for further developments that will lead to an enhanced cruising radius in electromobility, to extended battery lifetime and to reduced costs.

BLB is a research institution in Lower Saxony working with a technology platform that uses a uniquely, flexibly and modularly built production concept that can be implemented in applied and interdisciplinary research.
