Product description

Eatons new drivesConnect mobile app turns any smartphone or tablet into a human-machine interface, thereby making it mobile and thus even easier for machine builders and operators to parameterize, control and monitor the DE1, DC1 and DA1 frequency drives, as well as the new DB1 (cold plate unit) series. The drivesConnect mobile app is based on the functionalities of Eatons established eponymous software. In both the online and offline mode, users can use their mobile devices to access the user-friendly parameter structure, as well as creating and editing data sets via the Android- and iOS-compatible app. The app also includes the monitor and control functions of desktop version. For example, the app can be used to operate the frequency drives or to conduct diagnostics. Via Bluetooth or the modern Near Field Communication (NFC) standard, up to two data sets can be transferred from the mobile device to the Eaton DX-COM-STICK. To enable the transmission of data via NFC, the mobile device must be placed within a few centimeters of the DX-COM-STICK (in de-energized state). Using the NFC standards not only allows for a rapid transfer of data, but also make the process more secure, if the required proximity of the communicating devices is kept. As a final step for the parameters to be transferred, the stick simply has to be inserted into the respective frequency inverter. Eatons DX-COM-STICK is a Bluetooth communications stick that has been specifically developed for the transfer of parameters to the frequency inverters of the PowerXL range. It connects to the frequency drives via the integrated COM port. In the course of the introduction of the NFC technology, the stick has been revised and now also meets the new Bluetooth standards for iOS. In parallel with the launch of the revised DX-COM-STICK and the DB1 in early 2018, the app will be made available for download free of charge via Apples App Store (for iOS) and the Google Play Store (for Android systems).
