Product description

BAM has a test rig for controlled drop tests including extensive instruments (sensors) that enable a wide range of dynamic, individually customisable tests such as crash, bending and compression tests. BAM performs such stress tests on material and component combinations as well as on material samples. The investigations include measurements of distance, speed and acceleration time sequences as well as strains and forces.
BAM supports project partners in developing their experimental methodologies, experimental implementation and subsequent evaluation and assessment of measured data. The test rig enables tests with a loading rate of up to 15.3 m/s and drop weight masses of up to 1,000 kg on an unyielding foundation. The design of the test rig allows testing of components with a width of up to 1600 mm and a length of 5000 mm. A pneumatically controlled arresting system can catch the drop mass after the impact so that a secondary impact causes no further damage to the object to be inspected.
