With EchoRing, we posses a unique FPGA-based reliable real-time radio communications system based on COTS hardware. While the real-time feature is based on standard token-techniques, high reliability comes with the system immanent cooperation of the radio nodes involved; exploiting the wireless channel's spatial diversity.
EchoRing-research began back in 2009 as a theoretical approach. Today, the platform exists and is currently evaluated in diverse environment settings. The go-to-market of a first EchoRing-based product ist planned for the end of 2017 in cooperation with Schleicher Electronics (Berlin).
