Biogas and electrolysis in a combined power station:
The greatest challenge faced on the path to 100 % renewable energy supply is the fact that electricity cannot be generated from the wind and sun around the clock, irrespective of the weather. The solution to matching supply to demand is intelligent storage systems, such as the electrolysers developed by GP JOULE. Whether there is too much or too little electricity, GP JOULE can secure a flexible supply of 100 % renewable energy by using existing resources - a concept with future.

Our electrolysers combine sun and wind energy and biofuel with hydrogen storage. Surpluses in solar and wind energy are converted and stored in a power-to-gas facility using electrolysis in hydrogen. During electricity deficits, hydrogen is mixed with biogas in a combined heat and power station and converted into heat and electricity. This leads to an overall efficiency of practically 100 %. GP JOULE develops the electrolyser with an electrical output of 1 megawatt.
