HiCAD supports the entire product development process by state-of-the-art technologies, from the early concept and the creation of the 3D model through to the generation of related production documents and data. Conceived as a one-stop solution, HiCAD can be used not only in different industries, such as mechanical engineering, plant engineering, sheet metal processing or steel and metal engineering, but also for hybrid projects involving several industries.
At the Hannover Messe 2014 the ISD Group will present the latest versions of its CAD solution. Focused on «Smart Design» technology, the new versions support the user in an intelligent way through design automation and cross-checking of defined rules. The new features and enhancements included in the new versions underscore this trend: According to the principle of «Design Sharing», 3-D model drawings can now be exported as 3D-PDF files. This interactive representation allows a viewing and evaluating of the models from all sides even without HiCAD, e.g. by moving, rotating or zooming them. Furthermore, the export formats U3D and JT are supported as well. Other enhancements include additional options for Steel Engineering variants, various calculation tools such as FEM etc., and the further expanded HCM functionality. All new functions have been embedded in a new Look & Feel allowing an even more convenient and intuitive operation. Further support is provided by a new Online Help that can be called via the Internet.
As a universal CAD system, HiCAD is not only optimally suited for mechanical engineering, but can also be used in almost all branches of industry - from steel and metal engineering to sheet metal processing and plant engineering. Even hybrid projects involving several industries can be realised effortlessly.
