Electric traction motors of high efficiency and high power density are essential for electric and hybrid electric vehicles. Years of research have led to new winding and cooling technologies. Using a new winding technique, copper filling factors of more than 70% can be achieved.

The machine presented reaches a continuous power density of more than 8 kW/kg. Four of these machines are used to drive formula student electric cars. With the help of these motors, the KA-RaceIng team won the first place in the Formula Student Electric 2016.
