Multi technology solution
We designed, in close collaboration with the customer project team, a sensor body that was subject to a severe environment inside exhaust catalytic converters.
- Temperatures in excess of 1000°C
- Highly corrosive atmosphere
The optimal solution was obtained by including machining related technology
- Laser welding
- Deep drawing
- Use of refractory materials (inconel,...)
- High speed automated assembly (cam lathes)
Value analysis led us to propose a technical-economic solution based on three components assembled using laser welding.
Thanks to our collaboration with laboratories and technical centres we were able to recommend the adapted materials.
A high number of prototypes were made in order to validate the feasibility and the industrialisation study.
