With Industry 4.0, highly networked system structures will emerge. New challenges open up with regard to modularisation, networking and the distribution of control functions into ever smaller subfunctions. With the Industry-4.0-compatible automation system PSS 4000 Pilz is rigorously pursuing the modular, distributable approach. We show how the PSS 4000 can already be used to split complex, distributed systems into manageable modules.
Alongside robotics, "Industrie 4.0" is another initiative on which the stand will focus. Here the company will use a live demonstrator to illustrate how control tasks in a modular plant can be efficient and user-friendly thanks to distributed intelligence. The focus in this case will be on the Industrie 4.0-compatible automation system PSS 4000.
As a member of the research platform SmartFactory KL, Pilz is actively involved in drafting uniform standards for Industrie 4.0. In Hannover, Pilz is also represented on the shared SmartFactory KL stand in Hall 8. On show will be a production line developed in conjunction with other partners, illustrating the practical application of some key aspects of Industrie 4.0.
