The AL-ROCK is the first mobile robot for a defined hardening process of metal surfaces. No more time-consuming dismounting of heavy components: Simply drive the laser with its self-propelled crawling chassis directly to the part to be hardened. On site, the flexible, wide sweeping robot arm easily reaches even challenging work pieces. All that is required is the free access of the laser bam to the workpiece surface to be hardened.With the focused laser bean, the defined area is heated very quickly to the required transformation temperature and then quenched by the cold volume of the component. The material distortion is considerably reduced, due to the high speed of heat input with an almost simultaneous self-quenching.
