Common load floors consist of sandwich structures which are manufactured as planar parts. In that respect the load floor LightCurved differs greatly due to its innovative form. Its path of load leads to higher stiffness and results in more weight saving.
The top of the LightCurved is planar while the rear side is curved. Therefore transversal loads will predominantly effect membrane stresses in the curved layer. Ties between the edges absorb these membrane stresses. Consequently there is no lateral support necessary. With its new form LightCurved is either able to increase stiffness or decrease weight.
