The devices of the NB1600 series are designed for use in the industrial field. They have a high interference immunity and security standard and are suited for the temperature range from -25 °C to +70 °C. With their integrated mounting clip, the devices can be quickly installed on a DIN rail.
For wireless Internet access, the NB1600 routers can be equipped with LTE or UMTS modules. The modules also support GSM and select the best available service automatically. With a WLAN module, the devices can act as an access point or client with Standard IEEE 802.11abgn.
The NB1600 routers come with two Ethernet ports, which can individually be configured as a WAN port or a LAN port to form a switch or to separate to networks.
In addition, the routers are equipped with two isolated binary inputs and two relay outputs for direct connection of sensors and actuators. The provided USB port enables fast configuration and firmware updates from memory stick, but can also be configured as a device server. This also applies for the RS-232 serial interface, which can in addition be used as a system console.
The router software is based on well proven components including an embedded Linux operating system and a wide range of communication and routing protocols as VLAN, Mobile IP, OSPF, BPG and RSTP.
An SDK gives programmers a great tool to implementing all kind of applications with simple scripts. Data preprocessing can be done directly on the router, thus saving an additional IPC.
Other features include a smart Link Manager for optimized cellular connections, Quality of Service (QoS) for an efficient data exchange, E-Mail and SMS for alarming and notifications, a web server and RADIUS authentication and hidden SSIDs for WLAN.
