The BM104 PID controller is a universal continuous controller with a minimum reaction time of 1ms.
The control parameters P, I and D can be set independently of one another via the serial interface (RS232) using the terminal program of a PC. The possible control stroke can also be limited to a value of 100%...0 via the interface.
The controller has two equally weighted inputs  and  for forming the setpoint/actual value difference. Input  can be inverted to reverse the polarity of the actual value by wiring control input . Attention: A changeover of control input  is first effective after the supply voltage has been switched on again (power-on reset)!
It is often sensible to add the setpoint value and the con-trol stroke in order to increase the stability of the control loop. This can be accomplished by wiring the summation input  with the setpoint value. In this way, the down-stream controlling element is precontrolled using the stable pilot value and the controller only corrects the setpoint/actual value deviation. The control stroke can now be limited to the extent necessary, which greatly increases the stability and response of the closed-loop control circuit. The weighting of the setpoint precontrol  is set to 0...10 via the serial interface, whereby 1 corres-ponds to 100%.
