Whether for the assembly or the installation of machines and plants - the work of planners, handymen and assemblymen must be coordinated precisely. Work progress, issues and tasks must be discussed on a regular basis. Fraunhofer IGD has developed a series of possible solutions in order to coordinate information flows and avoid media breaks.
Via interactive installation planning at the multitouch table, assemblymen can directly access current planning, product and design information. They integrate tasks and short-term modifications in existing company systems via standardized interfaces. Task planning and distribution processes are therefore transparent and always up to date.
A software specially developed at Fraunhofer IGD makes it possible to make changes in the design drawing on paper by means of a digital pen and, in parallel, to directly transfer the data to the digital planning documents. The digital pen combines the familiar classic working method with new technology.
Maintenance work at construction sites often takes place in difficult conditions, such as cold, moisture or dirt. In order to be able to use mobile assistance systems there, Fraunhofer IGD combines timepieces with acceleration sensors and mobile devices. The timepieces recognize the gestures of the maintenance technicians and transmit them via radio to tablet PC and smart phone. Thanks to the direct and fast data exchange and the synchronization, all data represent the latest status.
