In all industrial areas where products or their raw materials are to be transported, linear drives are used. Depending on the field, the priorities are set to speed, positioning or reach. In many special applications, a combination of two or even three of the main features is crucial. Here, the cost-benefit factor is used as the priority criterion. The aim of this project is to develop an inexpensive pneumatic positioning drive, which also combines all the benefits together. This new development will allow unlimited travel, high speed and positioning accuracy of 0.1 mm. By using air suspension elements, a physical relationship between the internal pressure and the travel path can be produced. About a pressure control can be followed by a regular filling the air spring element a precisely defined way, thereby positioning can be realized with pneumatic elements. With implementation of the objective of the industry is provided a low-cost positioning available.
