ReKurs is a video-based, participatory eLearning tool to be deployed in vocational training and development as well as in specialist communities. High quality video content is complemented by user-generated content. Users add comments, questions or references to other content in the form of videos or written content. After a quality check, later users see a compiled version of the original video and selected comments. Then again, comments can be commented upon in a similar fashion. A mockup-video (rekurs.eu/video) illustrates the principle.
ReKurs allows to keep training content up to date in an affordable manner and to naturally integrate experience-based knowledge into the training. In our knowledge-based society, the division into experts as lecturers and users as learners no longer holds. The principle of participation takes account of this new reality. ReKurs pursues an approach of collaborative knowledge construction, and thereby, allows to depict complete discourses and social interactions.
The ReKurs platform combines the advantages of classical training and teaching formats (class room or seminar setting, reading material, video material), covers a broad spread of issues, provides several perspectives and contributes to networking. The time-displaced interaction via the platform is ideal to integrate employees working from home or different locations, independent from time zones.
