Product description

s-net makes it possible to combine extremely energy-efficient communication, positioning and sensor systems with application logic and process knowledge on a single platform. This makes it an ideal wireless technology for industrial users to digitalize processes. The adaptability of the communication protocols and various hardware reference designs for specific application requirements help to create a range of tailor-made solutions. Through the licensing of existing technology components, this technology enables rapid new product development.

The interplay of hardware reference design and s-net® communication protocol allows for flexible, bidirectional multi-hop wireless networking for embedded systems. User benefits include:

- hot plug-and-play via self-organization of the network structure
- low maintenance outlays thanks to inductive charging and energy harvesting
- robust communication through adaptive frequency band utilization and redundant communication paths

Application example:
Flexible, low maintenance order picking systems are now a reality thanks to s-net® technology featuring the new wireless PbLL pick-by-local-light, which does away with high installation expenditures, fixed mounting locations, and laborious warehouse restructuring. Owing to the extremely energy-efficient networking design of s-net® technology, users enjoy long battery life and economical system operation. The energy efficiency of the PbLL system is further enhanced by activating LED guidance for order pickers only when they are within the immediate vicinity of the system display. Innovative extra features include positioning and coordination of order pickers within the warehouse. With dimensions of 75 x 35 x 12 mm (L x W x H) and its wireless charging capability, the new s-net® S7XS wireless node is the ideal hardware platform for smart objects and cyber physical systems. It can thus be quickly and easily deployed for object tracking applications within buildings etc..
