LAYER ELECTRONICS shows the new range of horizontal-axle permanent magnets wind generators from 300 W to 20 kW.
Tested at field in the Italian "windy city" (Trapani, with its annual average wind speed of 6.8 m/s), LAYER wind generators have a mechanical robustness, that guarantees a high reliability that fears no comparison.
Having a start-in wind speed of 3 m/s, our wind generators guarantee the operation even in the least windy zones.
The rectifier (for grid connection version) and the charge regulator (for stand-alone version) implement the very important function of brake system, that makes first of all safe a LAYER wind-power plant. Our electronic brake system decelerates wind generators immediately in a very reliable and safe way and, in the meantime, they continue to supply power to loads, with no any loss of power generation.
Our electronic brake system works during a black-out (in grid connection) or at full recharge of batteries (in stand-alone operation) and during strong gusts of wind.
Moreover, our brake system avoids to let the generator rotate in overspeed, guaranteeing the absolute silence of our power plants.
Last but not least is surely the grid connected inverter. Unlike the other wind grid connected inverters on the market, our wind grid connected inverters don't result from solar inverters and are the only ones that implement an automatic MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) algorithm, that allows to supply always the maximum power available from the generator under each wind speed. The other inverters supply power to load in accordance with a predetermined power vs. frequency table, that doesn't keep in mind of changeable conditions of the wind. Moreover, since wind generators can produce a higher power than the nominal one, our inverters are oversized to be able to supply higher power without any problem.
