RADOLID presents a new safety cap designed especially for the wind power industry.
Heavy seas and extreme conditions mean that precision is crucial when mounting wind turbines. This need for precision, however, is not confined to offshore plants. Unexpected events often result in costly delays. The mounting of the rotor blades presents a particular challenge.
Interim storage or long transit routes that expose bolts to harsh climate conditions often result in corrosion damage to the bolts. Even mechanical damage to the thread will also hamper subsequent on-site assembly.
Our solution is a new safety cap designed especially for the threaded bolts of rotor blades. With an overall internal height of 250 mm, they completely cover the bolts. Interior threads enable the caps to be screwed onto the bolt thread. The hexagon shape further facilitates assembly/removal. Made of extremely robust polyethylene, the cap can be used time and time again.
