Roboception develops software products and innovative sensors for robotics applications.
Following the integrated 'Sense - Reason - Act' approach, the combination of sensors and software products enables localization and navigation for mobile robots, as well as flexible manipulation of objects in real-time for manipulators. Software modules such as object recognition, scene analysis, and the creation of environment models enable a variety of additional use cases.
All Roboception products can be configured and deployed through wizards and intuitive web interfaces, obviating the need for in-depth image processing and robotics expertise.
Roboception's stereo image based 3D sensor - making its world debut at the Hannover Messe 2017 - provides 3D point clouds and depth images in real-time. In addition, the sensor uses image and inertial data based pose estimation for self-localization, obviating the need for external infrastructure. Robot precision during handling tasks can be increased without absolute-reference measurements, and with integrated self-localization and the optional SLAM module, a mobile navigation solution can be established. The IP54 protected sensor offers a standardized GenICam interface, making it compatible with all major image processing libraries.
It will initially be offered with two mechanical housings. The smaller for mounting on robotic manipulators, the wider as external sensor. Both can be ordered in black and white, or color. Intuitive use and calibration, combined with a very attractive pricing enable image processing for everyone.
